The first contact with the client came through this website. She lives in the country but owns a weekender in the city. As frequent visitors to Italy, she and her husband thought it would be fun to transform their small, inner city backyard in Melbourne into an area which represents somewhere in Tuscany.
I got to work and quickly posted color photocopies of some watercolors I'd done, incorporating my impressions of what I thought the client was after.
There was an exchange of emails of suggestions and small amendments and then it was full speed ahead!
The courtyard comprises three walls, plus a retaining wall, which is going to look great after all the planting is finished. In the end we agreed it was about 15 metres by 1.5 to 2.
I'm happy to say the client is delighted with the results.
